UNDERSTANDING CANCER

Understanding cancer

Cancer is not a disease, but there is a collection of related diseases that can be almost anywhere in the body. At its most basic, cancer is the disease of genes in our body cells. Gene controls the work of our cells. But, changes in these genes can cause cells to be defective, which helps them to grow and split, when they want them, when they want, they should stop them from dying. These abnormal cells can become cancerous.

To understand this disease, genetic changes are the cause of cancer, while the figure of cancer is another. Cancer statistics consider scientists to be a burden of cancer on society. Statistics can tell us how many people are diagnosed with cancer every year and die and the number of people living after cancer diagnosis. Over time, changes in the statistics can help scientists find areas where progress is needed.

Cancer statistics also help scientists to understand cancer inequalities. Examples of inequalities include high cancer death rates, constant use of proven screening tests, and high rates of advanced cancer diagnosis, which are found in some groups of people.
